WELCOME TO THE NEW SEASON OF 2010
Hi! My name is Kerry Mitchell and I’m the new head professional of adult programming at SWCTC. I’d like to welcome all of you to the 2010 season.
In planning for the season I wanted to accommodate as many members into the instructional programming as possible, so I added some new and exciting things to the schedule. So take a look at it and hopefully everyone will find something that fits their schedule.

A whole new team has been added for this season. Take a look at their bio’s and get to know them. You’ll find like I did that their qualifications are quite extensive. Not only are they accomplished players, but also excellent instructors.

Adult Clinics
What’s new this year?- We’re starting the week of April 19 to get an early start on the season. We might need a parka in the beginning, but it will be worth it when you see your improvement at the end of the season.
- The number of adult clinics has increased from 19 to 25 per week to better serve the membership.
- Doubles oriented groups have been added to sharpen your competitive skills on the doubles court.
- Beginning group--this clinic is designed for the new player. This will be a very basic learning group.
- Drop-in clinics-these are designed for the member who can’t commit to a series of lessons, but would like to get some group instruction periodically to hone their skills. Each week there will be a different theme to the clinic (serve, volleys, ground stroke, strategy, etc.) In that way you can pick and choose the things that are important to you. The level for the drop-in groups will be 3.0 and above. These groups will be mixed level unless otherwise stated on the sign up sheet

Spring Session Dates (6 Weeks)
April 19-may 30.
Make up week: May 31-June 6
Sign Up Date: April 1
Payment Due Date: April 15
Saturday, Sunday and Monday may 22-24 no classes will be held due to long weekend.
Summer Session Dates (8 Weeks):
June 7-august 1
Make up week: august 2-8
Sign up date: may 20
Payment due date: June 3
Thursday clinic will be one less week due to the holiday (July 1).
Summer-Fall Session Dates (8 Weeks)
August 9-september 26
Make up week: September 27-october 3
Sign up date: July 22
Payment due date: august 5
Monday clinic will be one less week due to holiday (September 6).
Drop-In Clinics
Policies:
- Sign-up sheets will be posted weekly starting Monday in the club house.
- They are first come first serve.
- Payment has to be paid at the time of signing up.
- Payment is by check only, payable to Kerry Mitchell.
- Minimum of 3 participants are needed for the class to go forward.
- Maximum class size will be noted on the sign-up sheet (usually not more than 4 individuals).
Adult Clinics Policies:
- Participants in the group lessons must be members before they sign up (no exceptions).
- Registration dates for all sessions are posted above.
- Registration can be made either online through the club website or by filling out a hard copy of the registration form (in either case, please indicate a second preference if your first preference is over subscribed). No email sign ups will be accepted.
- Class size will be at least 3, but not more than 4 participants. If there are less than 3 sign-ups we reserve the right to cancel the class. Cancellation decisions will be handled on a case by case basis.
- Payment is by checque only (all prices include the appropriate taxes); payable to Kerry Mitchell. The check can be mailed or physically turned in at the clubhouse.

- Payment must be received by the due date posted on the website.
- Persons on the waiting list will be added to classes if space becomes available. Persons added from the waiting list will have until the start of the first class to make payment.
- Persons on the waiting list will have first priority for the next session. If wait listed please indicate if there is a desire to be placed in the next session.
- Make up classes are given only for rain.
- Make up classes will be held the week after the session ends. Make up classes may not be held the same time or night as the regular classes.
- If the weather is questionable, please call the club house prior to leaving for the club.
- Adjustments to the adult clinics’ structure may be made as the season goes along. Please check the website carefully when signing up for any changes that might have occurred.
Private Lessons:
Policies:
- Club membership is required.
- There are 1/2 hour and 1 hour lessons available.
- Payment is made directly to the instructor.
- Payment can be made by check or cash (preferred).
- Pricing varies with each instructor. Check each pro’s listing on the club website.
- Evening private or hitting lessons (between 7-10 pm) can not be accommodated.
- Cancellations: 24 hours notice is required.
Semi-Private Lessons:
Policies:
- Both individuals are required to be members to participate. The pro is not responsible for matching individuals, but will do whatever he/she can to help.
- Payment is made directly to the instructor.
- Pricing varies with each instructor. Check each pro’s listing on the club website.
- Evening semi-private lessons (between 7-10 pm) can not be accommodated.
- Cancellations: 24 hours notice is required.
Hitting Lessons:
Policies:
- Membership is required.
- Available through the hitting pro only.
- Payment is made directly to the instructor.
- Hitting sessions are designed to practice your skills (no basket feeding is allowed; 3 balls max.).
- Evening hitting lessons (between 7-10 pm) can not be accommodated.
- These are normally 1 hour lessons. Hitting lessons may be reduced to time allotted by club rules if the supervisor feels it is necessary due to high court usage (pricing remains the same).
