SINGLES CHALLENGE LADDER 2010
If you enjoy some competitive singles tennis play, sign up for our challenge ladder! The ladder is a great way to meet new players around your level of play (we offer four divisions - see below) and $10.00 lets you participate in all four rounds.
The Ladder opens May 9 but you can jump in and start laddering any time until the ladder closes August 29.
Registration
To register for the ladder Login to the members area of the website. Registration can take place at anytime during the season. If paying by Email Money Transfer (EMT), please click here before filling out the registration form. The four divisions are:
The cost is $10.00 per player. Preferred payment by Email Money Transfer (EMT). Click here to learn more about EMT. Other payment options such as cheque, credit card, or debit will only be accepted at the clubhouse during supervised hours. We highly discourage cash payments as they have a great potential to get lost and provide no audit trail. Players must register and pay the ladder fee before they can start playing matches. There are four rounds to the ladder which begins on May 9 and closes on August 29, 2010.* Once again this year, ladder winners in each division will be determined by the amount of points accumulated during the season. Players do not move up the ladder based on wins and switch positions with players above them in their division. As such, players may challenge anyone in their division. Rankings are determined by accumulated points (see below for details). Players may switch divisions to determine the appropriate division for their level of play with advance
permission of the Ladder Director houseleague @winstonchurchilltennis.ca in accordance with the following: For instance, a player plays three matches in Division 1, switches to Division 2 for two matches, then returns to Division 1 to play two more matches. This player must stay in Division 1 for the rest of the season, as they have played a total of five matches in Division 1 (and have also switched divisions twice, the max). They now cannot switch to another division. One court will be a designated ladder court which can be booked for one-hour ladder matches. Players must book matches in person, on a first-come, first-served basis, on the same day the match is to be played. Looking for an opponent to challenge to a ladder match? You can download a list of current ladder participants within your division and look for up the name on the members directory. Please note that if you wish to be listed in the directory, this option must be enabled in your account by loging in to the members page, click on My Account and make sure the option to be lites in the derectory is set to YES
